Sculpture and Art Training
Art has always been a reflection of the human soul, and sculpture is one of the oldest forms of its expression. Sculpture combines knowledge of anatomy, skills in material processing and a creative view of the world. In our workshop, training is based on classical values and modern understanding , creating an opportunity for each student to develop their own style and give art a personal touch.
The curriculum is based on working with bronze
Bronze is one of the most popular sculptural materials, combining durability, plasticity, and elegance . It is in bronze that countless world-class sculptures have been created, from ancient Greece to the present day.
In our studio, students learn:
- Model making in clay and plasticine
- Forming and preparing plaster casts
- Bronzing techniques and practical applications
- Texture and surface treatment, tinting
Bronze allows for the creation of both monumental sculptures and small-format statues with fine details. Every student has the opportunity to try their hand at this classic material and understand how art gains durability over centuries.
Figure Composition and Artistic Expression
The main theme that dominates the workshop’s works is single-figure composition , especially female nudes . This requires a high level of professionalism, as one must understand the anatomy of the body, its proportions, and the possibilities of plasticity.
Our approach is unique:
- Anatomical accuracy is maintained to make the figure recognizable and realistic.
- The pose is often made dynamic, with slight exaggerations in proportions.
- This technique gives the work expressiveness and emotionality .
Students learn how to strike a balance between reality and artistic freedom – how to create works that are not only anatomically correct, but also emotionally powerful.
Stylization and animalism
In addition to the human figure, the workshop also focuses on animal figures . Sculptures with dolphins, owls, or roosters reveal how diverse a sculptor’s expression can be.
The animalistic genre creates both realistic animals and stylized characters , emphasizing movement, character, and symbolism.
This approach allows students to combine natural observation with artistic imagination and develop the ability to work in different directions.
Achievements and awards
The studio master has received recognition at international exhibitions:
- “Moon Cat 98” and “Moon Cat 99” – the main cat-themed prizes.
- “Favorits 99” – award for dog sculptures.
- Since 2000 – winner of the main prize at the St. Bernard dog show “Latvian Golden St. Bernard” for 15 years in a row.
These successes demonstrate that the studio’s approach is not only creative, but also internationally recognized . Students have the opportunity to learn from a teacher with practical experience and professional achievements.
Sculpture dimensions and technical capabilities
The workshop creates works of various sizes:
- 1/2 life size (90–100 cm with pad)
- 1/3 of life size (60–70 cm)
- 1/5 (30–40 cm)
- 1/10 (15–20 cm)
Large-scale sculptures from 150 to 300 cm are made to order . This means that students can get acquainted with both chamber work and the process of implementing monumental projects .
Art training structure
The training is organized in the form of a workshop, where students practically work on their works under the guidance of a master. The program includes:
- Introduction to art history – the most important directions and styles of sculpture.
- Getting to know materials – clay, gypsum, bronze and their properties.
- Figure modeling – human and animal anatomy.
- Composition and stylization – how to create a harmonious work.
- Castings and surface treatment – from plaster to bronze.
- Individual projects – each student realizes their own idea.
The importance of sculpture today
Sculpture is not just decoration. It can be:
- A symbol of personality or a reflection of one’s life path
- A testament to the history and culture of society
- Architectural addition and room decoration
- The artist’s emotional world in three-dimensional form
Students trained in the studio gain skills that allow them to work not only in art, but also in design, architecture, and visual communication .
Why choose our workshop?
- Experienced master with international awards
- Practical training with real materials
- Individual approach to each student
- Opportunity to work in both figurative and animalistic genres
- International experience and recognition
In conclusion
Sculpture and Art Training is an opportunity for anyone who wants to take art seriously – both as a professional and as an enthusiast. Bronze, plaster, stone and other materials become tools through which students learn to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas.
Our workshop is a place where creativity meets craftsmanship , where works are created that last more than one generation, and where the path of art begins with the first form in clay.
